KOTTAYAM: Leader of the Opposition Oommen Chandy on Wednesday said that the hartal was forced upon the UDF by the government which denied it a chance to register its views on the opinion of the Advocate-General in the SNC Lavalin issue.
Cabinet decision to accept the Advocate-General’s advice on the case is undemocratic, illegal and against ethics.
``The Chief Minister had the responsibility to listen to the views of the Opposition before the Cabinet took a final decision. Both sides should be given a fair hearing ,” Mr. Chandy said.
