Thiruvananthapuram: The Left Democratic Front (LDF) and its main faction CPI(M) have demanded the public to reject the hartal called by the United Democratic Front (UDF) in the State on Thursday.
LDF convener Mr Vaikom Viswan termed the hartal the latest in the series of ‘vulgar agitations’ being organised by the UDF.
People should reject the attempt of the UDF to punish the people by making political mileage of the issue.
The Cabinet had taken decision on the Advocate-General’s advice in the Lavalin case strictly adhering to the relevant norms, he said.
The High Court (HC) had asked the government to give its opinion for prosecuting the accused in the case.
``As per the Constitution, it was for the Advocate-General (AG) to advice the government in such matters,'' Mr Viswam said.
