THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The dawn to dusk hartal observed by the UDF evoked partial response in the state. As many as 17 KSRTC buses were damaged and two crew were injured when supporters of the UDF hurled stones during the hartal on Thursday.

The glass panes of 17 buses attached to various depots of the KSRTC were damaged. 

The damage incurred to the KSRTC is yet to be estimated, sources said. 

The Thiruvananthapuram corporation had to suspend services in the city on the advice of the police for some time in  view of the stone-pelting and rally by UDF activists. Later, the services were restored.

The KSRTC conducted more than 50 per cent of the schedules in the State.
